Health & Wellness Solutions
Aging in place is a cherished goal for many seniors in the U.S., representing the desire to remain in homes built through years of hard work and dedication. However, staying at home presents significant challenges. Chronic illnesses, such as arthritis or diabetes, affect over 85% of adults over 65, complicating daily tasks like cooking or bathing. Outdated home designs—featuring steep stairs, narrow doorways, or high-threshold bathtubs—exacerbate mobility issues, with only 10% of U.S. homes considered "aging-ready." Falls are a major concern, with one-third of adults over 65 experiencing a fall annually, two-thirds of which occur at home, contributing to over $50 billion in medical costs yearly. Limited family support, due to smaller households and geographic distance, further hinders aging in place, unlike multigenerational caregiving traditions in other cultures. Yet, there is hope. A growing movement is redefining what it means to age at home, with new housing designs, smart technology, and healthcare innovations making it possible to live safely and independently for longer. The key is planning ahead—adapting homes before a crisis strikes and leveraging modern solutions to maintain both health and dignity - this that is our focus at Wellness Access
